Telemedicine services may include:

States Where Services May Be Provided

Telemedicine Is Not Emergency Care

Telemedicine services are not intended for emergency medical conditions.

If you are experiencing:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Stroke symptoms
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Severe injuries
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Any medical emergency

Call 911 immediately or seek care at the nearest emergency department.

Do not use telemedicine appointments, email, text messages, patient portal messages, or website forms for emergency situations.

Limitations of Telemedicine

Patients understand and acknowledge that telemedicine has limitations compared to in-person medical care.

Limitations may include:

  • Inability to perform a complete physical examination
  • Reduced ability to assess certain medical conditions
  • Dependence upon technology and internet connectivity
  • Potential audio or video quality issues
  • Inability to obtain immediate diagnostic testing

Certain conditions may require:

The provider may determine that telemedicine is not clinically appropriate and may recommend an in-person visit or referral.

Patient Responsibilities

Technical issues may occasionally interfere with services.

If technical disruptions occur, the Clinic may:

  • Continue the visit by telephone
  • Reschedule the appointment
  • Terminate the session if adequate communication cannot be maintained
